Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Caroline spent her childhood in and around Monymusk, and attended Alford Academy before studying for a further three years at Aberdeen college; graduating with a Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design.
After spending several years working in the printing trade in Belfast, she returned to her native Aberdeenshire where she now works as a papercut artist.
"What I love most about paper cutting, is the challenge of conveying depth without the use of shading, while creating an image that must all hold together as one piece, once cut. So there's quite a large design element to it - not only deciding what you want to get across, but how you're going to get it across with a piece of paper and a scalpel.
I also love the choice of papers, and how the weight, texture, and colour affect absolutely everything. The paper is the paint, really."
